ScharkSpark Drone Reviews (SS40 The Wasp Drone)

Review by Michael Stevenson

Great drone with a lot of great features

I'm a drone collector and have a few high end drones such as the DJI 3 pro and DJI 4 and decided to purchase another drone to add to my collection. I decided to do with the ScharkSpark SS40, due to the fact that it comes with great features for the price. This drone was fun to fly inside my house, which is very hard to do with the DJI phantom series. After setting getting the feel of the SS40, I decided to fly it outside. The auto take off feature makes it very easy to get started and it handles very well. This drone does have a 6 point axis, so it can maintain altitude during flight. What I do like most is that it came with prop guards to protect the props if one decides to hit a wall or tree and that it came with spare screws and props. One downside to the drone is that it's light in weight and I can see wind speeds above 5mph drifting the drone a little. I didn't have any wind, so I could be wrong. Other than that for the price of this drone, you get a few great features out of it.

Great starter drone

So the ScharkSpark Wasp is my first quadcopter. I looked at a bunch of brands, read tons of reviews and decided to roll the dice. So far, I have been very happy with this drone. It comes with a 3 year extended warranty plus an extra battery and props. The drone itself is lighter than I expected and it's handling is very responsive. It's also extremely durable. I have crashed it several times but the prop guards have helped minimize damage to the drone and the objects it's hit. You can fly the drone with the app on your mobile device or you can use the controller that was included. Better yet, you can mount your phone on the base of the controller and monitor the live video feed from the 1080 HD camera. Granted it uses wifi to control the drone along with the live feed. It can record photos and video to the app which you can then save to your phone. The image quality is better than some of the other drones I've seen in this price range. Normally you can get about 10 minutes of flight time on 1 battery. When you start using the camera and flying in the wind, it drains the battery a lot quicker. That's where the second battery comes in handy. Overall range is about the length of a football field, just remember, the farther away it gets, the more likely you'll loose your wifi connection. When that happens, you loose control of the drone. My video feed has cut out before but I regained control and was able to bring it in. I'm still learning how to fly but it's been a blast so far.

ScharkSPark is great

This is a fun little drone and easy to fly. I did not buy this for videography or photography so my review will not include the camera.
This quadcopter is very stable indoors and as long as there's no wind it's a fantastic flyer outdoors too.
With it's nicely labled remote I think it's great for beginners.
One of the best things about ScharkSPark is the customer service. They go above and beyond for their customers to resolve any issues. They also offer free batteries, warranty extensions coupon codes and more.
As an owner and user of more than 50 drones from $20 micros to $1500 pro grade flying cameras I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this quad and even more so, this company.
